Also known as no sewing for weeks. It won't be picking up in the next couple either, since Paul and I have decided to try and sell our house and get into a larger house. My sewing things are taking up so much room and space it's just not smart to stay in a place with a nursery attached to the master rather than a bathroom.

I think I may have just saved myself about 45 minutes by missing a trip to Jo Ann's for a check if they even *have* size #0 grommets. Ace had them down the block from me. I may get this guy finished today concerning wear ability. Trimming is optional, but can be fun. I think I'm gonna go with the little bias bows. So cute.

I don't just sew as some of you may know. I also like to collect and re- wire lamps when fancy strikes me. I have hoarded pendant style swag lights waiting for a time when it would make sense to re wire them. Amber was kind enough to donate to me a lamp that was rather pretty with a distinctively Cinderella style diffuser ( Read more... )

This weekend was productive. I’ve been researching traverse rods for installation in my bedroom. I have about a 36” window opening, so the pieces I’d install if I bought them new is about $20/ window. Since I have three treatments, this now totals more than the cost of the fabric. I deliverd JM's slipcover yesterday. It has it's flaws, and they are duely noted. I am more satisfied with it though than I was worried about it. We did a trade for some of her hand made jewlery. I did annother test fit of the chair cover for JM today. I was releived to discover that the reason they don't fit togather is that one section is too big. I don't know how such a cutting error came to be, but it's certainly a relief that there isn't one that's too *small ( Read more... )

I had the pleasure of helping amber set up her new sewing and craft space yesterday. The kids were having a grand time playing in the tree house. And we got the table and extension as well as three lamps set up. I had the fun of re- stacking her well organised fabrics again on the ready- made shelf that is in there.
